Hardware

This section covers hardware products and tools provided by Radix IoT that integrate with the Mango SCADA platform. The primary hardware offering is the MangoGT, a pre-configured embedded appliance that ships with Mango Enterprise fully installed and licensed.

MangoGT

The MangoGT is an industrial-grade embedded computer purpose-built for SCADA and IoT deployments. It arrives ready to use with Mango Enterprise pre-installed on a customized Debian Linux operating system. The MangoGT section covers initial setup, physical connections, network configuration, remote access via SSH and SFTP, VPN configuration, and backup procedures.

Mango I/O Tools

The Mango I/O Tools module provides management and configuration utilities for Mango Analog I/O modules. These expansion modules add eight 12-bit analog inputs to the MangoGT, supporting voltage, current, thermistor, and digital input modes. The I/O Tools page covers device connections, channel configuration, calibration, and firmware management.

When to Use Hardware vs. Software-Only Mango

Mango can be deployed either as software on your own infrastructure or as the MangoGT hardware appliance. The MangoGT is ideal for deployments where a dedicated, preconfigured device simplifies installation at remote or industrial sites. It includes built-in serial communication ports (RS-485), industrial power input (12-24 VDC), and optional analog I/O expansion -- capabilities that a standard server deployment would require additional hardware to achieve.

For data center or cloud deployments, or when integrating with existing server infrastructure, the software-only installation of Mango is typically the better choice. See the Getting Started section for software installation instructions.
